BURNSIDE

WHAT IS BURNSIDE
Burnside is a South Australian lacrosse club but in the Chaddy venacullar it refers to an important annual game and weekend of celebration with our Adelaide sister club.

In 2024, its our turn to head over to the City of Churches.

The “Burnside” game is an inter-club match played after each season between the Melbourne based Chadstone Lacrosse Club and the Adelaide based Burnside Lacrosse Club. It is commonly understood to be one of the oldest interstate annual games played in Australia with the 2024 edition the 54th year of competition.

WHAT HAPPENS
Lots.   Aside from the game – which is played rather seriously on the Sunday afternoon – the weekend will include the sort of team building activities that very much fit into the category of “What happens on the trip, stays on the trip”.

WHEN IS IT ON
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September (although it would be wise to take off Friday 27 and Monday 30 September).

HOW TO GET THERE
Essentially you need to make your way to the Burnside Lacrosse Club by late Friday or at the latest Saturday morning to join in the festivities.  You can make your own way although there will be a bus type of vehicle making its way across on Friday 27.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Commit to a weekend of unbridled happiness and a lacrosse game unlike any other.
