VALE RICHARD "DICK" MORGAN

2 Dec by Jorge Menidis

One of the Chaddy greats has passed.

Richard “Dick” Morgan passed away last week at the ripe old age of 97.

Whilst he did not play the game for the Redbacks – or indeed the Cardinals, Dick was a club legend who served as its President (1976, 1977, 1989 + 1990) and was it’s hard working secretary from 1991 through to 1995.

He was made a Life Member in 1986 and served in every non playing position the club had – scorer, team manager, bar manager, junior team driver and in the role many people who knew him will remember him for – the club’s great conversationalist and confidant.

Dick was a gentleman who was there to welcome new players and their families, chat with onlookers and show interest in not only your sporting achievements but your life away from lacrosse.

Our lives are better for having known him.
Our club is better for his efforts and stewardship.
VALE DICK MORGAN.

For those who can attend, Dick’s funeral will be on Monday 9 December at 2pm at W D Rose of Brighton East (corner Nepean Hwy and Marriage Rd).
